The Huizhou Culture & Arts Center is picturesquely situated in the riparian, hilly city of Huizhou, aka Goose City, and is also the local cultural landmark building, housing an opera house, multi-functional hall, and a musical hall, hitting the total space area of 40,000sqm. Outside, the contoured design evokes either an open crystalline grand piano or a flying swan on the bank of Dongjiang River. Constructed from strong, lightweight honeycomb composite, the smoothly undulating roof creates imagery of ripples of water, flutters of wings, and adds poetic aesthetics of flowing music to the building's ambience. Besides, the inherent resistance to the wind load of honeycomb panels effectively improves the safety of this building.
