New Curved High Profile Series™ Baffle Ceiling System from Hunter Douglas Contract Teams Unique Aesthetics with Easy Infrastructure Access
Hunter Douglas Ceilings introduces the Curved High Profile Series™ (HPS) Baffle Ceiling System, a sophisticated ceiling system that offers extraordinary design options and easy ceiling infrastructure access for contractors, service providers, and owners.
As the newest addition to the award-winning High Profile Series™ product line, Curved HPS offers flexible, customizable design for a range of indoor commercial applications. By using a series of differing beam radii, an undulating appearance can be created, giving any ceiling a clean, modern aesthetic mixed with a sense of motion. Customizable profiles enable a range of distinctive curves that result in creative, one-of-a-kind, design features.
The Curved HPS Baffle Ceiling System was recently utilized on the interior of the new Avery Dennison headquarters in Glendale, Calif. Designed by HOK in Los Angeles, the two-floor, 40,000 square foot space incorporates focal elements that make reference to the Avery Dennison culture, history and business units throughout. Hunter Douglas’s Curved HPS was specified for the ceiling above the Multipurpose Room bleachers and stairs, which connect the two floors. “The organic, ‘flowing water’ pattern of the ceiling is a beautiful contrast to the geometric, orthogonal surroundings of the rest of the space. It’s powerful without being overwhelming,” said Clay Pendergrast, AIA, IIDA, LEED® AP BD+C, Director of Interior Design HOK Los Angeles “Hunter Douglas’s new product allows us to create shapes that are completely unique, while offering our client a solid, professional and elegant feature.”
Like other products in the HPS line, the new curved ceiling system offers extruded aluminum profiles. Engineered for an exact fit, seamless baffles are available in lengths up to 20 feet, with an extensive selection of paint, anodized and wood-look veneer finishes. The bold, unusual aesthetic characteristics of the Curved High Profile Series ceiling system provide an attractive screen for masking infrastructure and expanding visual design options.
Designed and engineered at Hunter Douglas’ manufacturing facility in Norcross, GA, the Curved High Profile Series™ Baffle Ceiling System is GREENGUARD Gold certified and has no VOCs.
